As the 2024 Uhuru Torch Race illuminated Tanzania with the theme “Preserve the Environment and Engage in Local Government Elections for the Construction of a Sustainable Nation,”
it sparked a dynamic youth conference in Tanga City. With 39.4% of the city’s population being youth, and 2000 participants from diverse backgrounds, the event became a vibrant platform for discussions on leadership, economic opportunities, and life skills. Led by enthusiastic youth leaders and skillfully coordinated by city officials and project officers, the conference concluded with resolutions advocating for inclusive dialogues, increased access to accurate information, skill acquisition for technological advancement, and youth engagement in decision-making processes. This gathering not only positioned youth as catalysts for change but also marked a pivotal moment in Tanga’s history, showcasing their unique power to shape the future.
