Youth product markets are receiving a significant boost as the Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) – Tanga project organizes a crucial stakeholders’ meeting. The initiative, supported by TangaYetu, brought together representatives from diverse sectors including schools, banks, hotels, cleaning companies, and the private sector. The core purpose was to discuss and establish effective strategies to support youth trained in food processing and soap & cosmetic making to access reliable markets for their products within Tanga City.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Connecting Producers with Institutional Clients
Stakeholder collaboration served as the foundation of the meeting, which provided a direct platform for dialogue between young producers and potential institutional clients or business partners. The focus was on strengthening developmental partnerships and actively increasing the value of youth-made products in Tanga. Participants expressed a strong willingness to engage, offering tangible support such as product distribution opportunities, essential business mentorship, and guidance on improving product quality to ensure the youth can compete both locally and internationally.

Tanga Youth Entrepreneurs: Quality and Product Integrity are Key Pillars
Tanga youth entrepreneurs were strongly advised that quality and product integrity are key pillars for business growth. Speaking at the session, Ibrahim Shilla from Gonna Green Africa urged the young producers to ensure their products consistently meet high-quality standards and include accurate information, such as expiry dates, to build essential customer trust. Shilla noted that maintaining these pillars will be fundamental in helping young people expand their markets both domestically and globally.

Food & Cosmetic Processing: Improving Products and Understanding Market Demands
Food & cosmetic processing entrepreneurs are gaining valuable market insights from these dialogues. This meeting builds directly on previous discussions held in September, which focused on assessing challenges faced by young entrepreneurs in securing sustainable markets within the food processing and cosmetics & beauty sectors. Through these sustained engagements, the youth are equipped with practical knowledge on improving their products and gaining a deeper understanding of real market demands and needs.
GOYN Tanga: Building a Strong Collaborative Network for Self-Employment
GOYN Tanga: Building a strong collaborative network is the central mechanism for connecting youth with real economic opportunities. Through these stakeholder dialogues, the project aims to raise awareness among key institutional partners about the high potential of young entrepreneurs. The ultimate goal is to establish a strong network that empowers youth to be self-employed, successfully grow their businesses, and eventually employ others, reinforcing the belief that “Youth are opportunities, and opportunities are the foundation of Tanga’s development.”
