Bodaboda Safety and Licensing: Legalizing Youth Operations

Bodaboda safety and licensing are critical for formalizing the sector. UWAPIBATA Tanga Region reported that, in collaboration with GOYN Tanga, it has successfully trained 48 youth operating bodaboda and bajaji. These youths are currently in the final stages of completing licensing procedures, after which they will be able to operate legally and with significantly improved road safety standards.

Government Alignment: Empowering Youth Through Vocational Skills

Government alignment with national goals is evident in these programs. The implementation reflects the practical commitment of the Sixth Phase Government of Tanzania to economically empower youth through vocational skills development. By collaborating with development partners, the private sector, and civil society, the Government ensures young people acquire skills that meet labor market demands, particularly in the transport and vocational trades sectors. These efforts directly contribute to the reduction of youth unemployment and promote industrial growth.
